Old Post House Bed & Breakfast St Fagans is a family owned and run, accommodation business, in Cardiff by husband and wife team Christopher & Faye Price.

Chris and Faye have had roots to St Fagans village for over 25 years, having lived and worked in the village for so long they naturally jumped at the opportunity to restore new life into Old Post House Bed & Breakfast Cardiff, as well as raising their young family in the local village surroundings that mean so much to them.

Active within the community with Chris being a member of the community council – the surrounding village, its residents’, other businesses & environment are all very important to the family.

It’s this homely, friendly & welcoming approach that comes across whether you’re choosing to stay at Old Post House Bed & Breakfast Cardiff or hosting an event or wedding. A personal touch-where no ask is too big and every endeavour is taken to ensure your stay, event or wedding at Old Post House Bed & Breakfast Cardiff is to be remembered.

Having travelled extensively throughout Europe, India, Asia, America, Australia & New Zealand, they have both gravitated back to their roots.  They bring with them experience and expertise generated from working and living in many other countries, which is very much like the Old Post House Bed & Breakfast Cardiff building itself.  The building is a mix of traditional (dating back from being the original village Post Office & Police Station) and the more modern Scandinavian influence which has transformed the building over the last 20 years.

With Faye and Chris’ background in hospitality, weddings and their commercial catering company, which provides daily catering to many businesses in and around South Wales, you will find yourselves in very capable hands. Business Lunch Company is also housed at Old Post House Bed & Breakfast Cardiff and compliments the all-round service, for events and weddings you can find at Old Post House Bed & Breakfast Cardiff.

Daniel Clarke- Our Chef

We think it’s time now that Daniel has settled into his new role as our Chef at Old Post House wedding and event venue to introduce him to you all. We’re very excited to have Daniel join the team. He has an extensive CV background having worked in 4* hotel resorts as well having had the opportunity to gain experience under a 3* Rosette Chef and Michelin Star Chef’s. Daniel has also had the chance travel around the world and as such has picked up techniques that have helped shape and influence the menus he’s written.

From a young age Daniel always knew he wanted to be a chef. From the age of 14 Daniel started working in pub kitchens, which is where he met Faye and Chris, he’s since worked his way up through the ranks. Local to the area, Daniel grew up a stone’s throw from St Fagans Village so jumped at the opportunity to join the team at Old Post House Cardiff to help develop and expand the event and wedding business. A fresh and exciting project where he feels he can enhance his cooking experience and help develop the business.

With a passion for foraging and cultivating, Daniel has visions of growing his own herb garden at Old Post House Cardiff. Not to mention he’s excited to be putting his own mark onto our menus. Our menus are constantly evolving to incorporate seasonal ingredients, as well as the taste of our clients. It’s a great creative challenge and a fantastic opportunity to have Daniel on board.

Daniel is looking forward to offering his own personal touch, discussing wedding menus with perspective couples and creating bespoke menus, as well as interacting with our residential guests whilst serving a delicious breakfasts using local Welsh produce.

We have exciting plans to develop our wedding portfolio,  “Pop Up” restaurant weekends, increasing our ever popular Sunday Lunches, introducing some charity events, as well as looking at weekend brunches.


Alexandra Thomas – Sales and Marketing Executive

With an extensive background in event  and wedding coordination, Alex is a fantastic addition to the team. She has a passion for customer service and you can be confident that with her knowledge and expertise she’ll guide you to ensure your event or wedding is a success.

With over 13 years’ experience in weddings and events Alexandra, started working in hotels from the age of 18.  She has worked in some of the top city centre 4* Hotels, in both weddings and events.  At the age of 22 Alex got her first job as a dedicated wedding coordinator and has since worked in one of Cardiff top wedding venues as well as having just come from 5 years working at the only 5* Hotel in Cardiff where she worked as their dedicated wedding coordinator for 3 years with the latter 2 years focusing on special events.

Alex thrives on being organised, this shows through with her attention to detail and going that extra mile as the dedicated co-coordinator for weddings & events at Old Post House Cardiff.   With two little girls she’s already a keen member of a school PTA where she’s using her knowledge to help organise school events.

Alex is hugely enthusiastic on her role working with Chris and Faye to develop and increase to profile of the wedding business at Old Post House.  It is an exciting project that offers couples a more personal service that many of Cardiff venues are unable to.   Alex looks forward to welcoming you to Old Post House and working with you to ensure your event is a success. 2 days ago
