Old Post House is a family owned and run business, in St Fagans village run by husband and wife team Christopher & Faye Price. Old Post House is a wonderful venue in Cardiff, South Wales for anyone who is looking for somewhere beautiful, unique and personal. Whether it be for a wedding, special occasion, overnight stay or at one of their Sunday Lunches. With the couples extensive back ground in outside catering, Old Post House really does have everything.
Faye and Chris like nothing more than to work with their clients on making their occasion truly special.
Chris and Faye have had roots to St Fagans village for over 25 years, having lived and worked in the village for so long they naturally jumped at the opportunity to restore new life into Old Post House.
Active in the community with Chris being a member of the community council – the surrounding village, its residents’, other businesses & environment are all very important to the family.
It is this homely, friendly & welcoming approach that comes across whether you are choosing to stay at Old Post House, hosting an event or choosing Old Post House for your wedding. A personal touch-where no ask is too big and every endeavour is taken to ensure your stay, event or wedding at Old Post House is one to be remembered.
The couple have brought their own changes to Old Post House including a fully equipped production kitchen, separate to the main kitchen for corporate and outside catering. A 90 seater glass panelled bespoke ivory marquee and they have refurbished each individual unique bedroom.
With Faye and Chris’ background in hospitality, weddings and their commercial catering company (which provides daily catering to many businesses in and around South Wales) you will find yourselves in very capable hands. Daniel Clarke – Our Head Chef
Daniel Clarke has an extensive background, having worked in 4* hotel resorts as well having had the opportunity to gain experience under a 3* Rosette Chef and Michelin Star Chef’s. Daniel has also had the chance to travel around the world and as such has picked up techniques that have helped shape and influence the menus he has written.
With a passion for foraging and cultivating, Daniel has visions of growing his own herb garden at Old Post House Wedding Venue South Wales.
The menus are constantly evolving to incorporate seasonal ingredients, as well as the taste of our clients.
Daniel is constantly looking for ways to offer his own personal touch, discussing wedding menu ideas with perspective couples and creating bespoke food choices, as well as interacting with our residential guests, whilst serving a delicious breakfasts using local Welsh produce.
Lee Bonella - Chef
Lee has over 25 years’ experience as a chef and joined our team in the summer of 2018. Having had a varied background in contract catering and private catering, Lee has brought his vast expertise to Old Post House. Having previously worked for a large contract caterer, catering for 100’s people every day for army bases. Lee knows how to run a busy kitchen and is confident with catering for large events with high expectations. Lee’s attention to detail is second to none and he enjoys producing food that looks good and tastes amazing. He relocated and on doing so moved into the restaurant sector starting as a line chef and soon becoming head chef at a fine dining restaurant. With his wealth of experience, Lee heads up Old Post House Bistro, planning menus and running the daily operation.
Cheralyn Tonkins – Assistant Manager & Event Coordinator
Working alongside Chris and Faye; Cheralyn oversees Old Post House weddings, events & the daily Bistro. Being the main point of contact for our wedding and event clients you are sure to meet Cheralyn along the way. Having completed a degree in hospitality management, Cheralyn focused her time towards a career in wedding and event catering. From university she joined a gastro pub in Cardiff and found her love for great food and great service. Moving then on to St Fagans museum overseeing the wedding and event catering on site. After 2 years she moved to a high end catering company, travelling across Wales and South West as a wedding and event manager. Having overseen weddings and events in an array of venues from large manors houses to marquees, Cheralyn has a wealth of knowledge which she is bringing to Old Post House. Ensuring that every detail is nailed down and everything is organised to ensure your event with us runs smoothly.
